The GACC New York hosts the
“Energy Efficiency Award Challenge 2017”
to
promote German "Green Building" projects in the U.S.

Germany has established itself as an international market leader and innovator in the fields of energy efficiency and green buildings. Over the past years, the use of German products and technologies in the U.S. buildings industry has grown consistently.

The Efficiency Award Challenge provides participating German companies the chance to showcase their technologies and services that focus on increasing overall building performance for buildings in the U.S. The competition was launched by GACC Midwest in 2016 to help German companies gain market recognition in the U.S. and make new industry connections.

Participate in the Energy Efficiency Award Challenge 2017!

The application form can be found here.

The Energy Efficiency Award Challenge culminates in an event

on July 13, 2017 in New York City with 3 sessions:

  • Lunch session: Presentations of Energy Efficiency Award Challenge finalists in front of an independent jury and insights by Green Building experts
  • Afternoon session: Guided Tour of a building featuring German innovation
  • Evening session: Award Ceremony & Evening Reception

New York is a great place to host this event and showcase German products in the energy efficiency sector. In 2014, NYC committed to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent by 2050 ("80 x 50"). Since New York's buildings contribute nearly three-quarters of citywide GHG emissions, this initiative focuses particularly on buildings and their energy efficiency.

The Energy Efficiency Award Challenge is supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi)  as part of the "Energy Efficiency - Made in Germany" Initiative.
